so this is the start of the Blog by Garth and Kimberley on Irish Diplomacy, and the first thing we need to say is Happy Birthday Mom!
This first blog finds us in Marina San Carlos in the State of Sonora in Mexico. A very nice town, albeit a very Gringo town with many Americans and Canadians who have homes here. San Carlos has been described to us as a Drinkin' Town with a Fishin' Problem. Believe me, it fits. The most amazing part is where all the boats are put up on the hard for summer as people escape the heat. There is so many masts sticking up out of this one valley, it's like a massive forest of bare trees in the desert.
It has been smokin' hot here with temps averaging about 98 or 99 every day, but into the area of 110 with the heat index factored in. Today we had no power on the docks, and we didn't have our canopy up, so it made it all the way to 98 in the cabin. Tomorrow we'll take the boat out and cruise around a bit, maybe go for a dip. Even at 93 degrees, the water will feel very nice.
Our plans have us here for the next two weeks before we do an overnight passage back to Puerto Escondido for our haul-out and Kimberley's trip north. After that, well.......who really knows, but the plan right now is to go anchor out a few miles outside of La Paz.
There will be more to come in the near future.
