So the 30 second recap (that's 30 seconds of writing....not writing):
- Arrived in Mazatlan, time to rebuild engine. (hello Bob? Can we give you more money?)
- Garth goes dog sledding, with a margarita in hand of course (but this was in Canmore). What. You thought they have dog sledding in Mazatlan? Who's been drinking the margarita now?
- Enjoyed many dinners and bevvies with friends on the docks.
- Engine repairs complete, and we cross the sea to Loretto and hang on the hook for a few days
- Off to Escondido for a repair of the bottom paint job. Out of the water, in to the water and out of Escondido as rapidly as possible.
- Vive La Paz, and we're here for the summer. We did plan on going North to San Diego, but a minor engine issue and bad weather changed those plans rapidly.
- Summer in La Paz. Much better than a summer in the sea. Neighbors go to the sea; neighbors return. More neighbors go to the sea, more neighbors return. Damn it it's Hot up there.
- Bailey had mucho play time with the girls of Ocean Quest, and with shots of testosterone the vet was giving him, he did get some...shall we say masculine ideas. Poor teacup poodles.
- Ocean Quest Bill had a good laugh at our watermaker membrane. (That's about the worst piece of %$#$ I've ever seen). It was so bad he didn't even want to keep it as a demonstrator. He didn't think anyone would believe it came out of an in-service watermaker. Amazingly, within another three weeks, Bill serviced 2 more watermakers with membranes even worse than ours. Go figure. And yes, we have been drinking from it all this time. I figure we were building up our resistance to Montezuma's revenge.
- many boat projects going on as well including new sacrificial for the fore-sails. Big job doing that on the docks.
- Work wise, pretty much the same as always....steady....busy...and growing!
So that is the 30 second catch-up. What's next? Well we're thinking a day cruise with our good friend Aggie and her four-legged buddy Margie, ten on or about the 22nd of October, we'll head back to Mazatlan. We'll be there until the end of November, and then it is back to La Cruz..
We will also start working on some video so we can update the site. Had great plans for that, but time just runs out.
We'll update again in a few weeks and start getting the blog really rolling.
So to bid you adieu today, an old Irish saying from Irish Diplomacy.
Fair winds!
